What is a Psychological
Assessment?

A psychological assessment is a structured clinical process that helps you or someone you care about a deeper understanding of how you think, feel, learn, and function. Using standardized tools, clinical interviews, and behavioral observation, our assessments provide a clear picture that informs decisions around education, treatment, employment, and personal growth.

At KAHLE, every assessment is interpreted through a Caribbean cultural lens, so your background and lived experience are always part of the picture.

Clarity for every stage of development

We offer several different types of assessments, designed for your specific needs. All assessments include a comprehensive written report with actionable recommendations.

Psychoeducational Assessment

Psychoeducational Assessment

A psychoeducational assessment looks at how a person learns, processes information, and performs academically. It identifies learning differences, cognitive strengths, and any barriers to achievement that may not be visible in everyday settings. The results give families, schools, and clinicians a clear picture to act on.

  • Identify learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, and processing difficulties

  • Support Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and Individual Learning Plan (ILP) planning.

  • Provide exam accommodations and support for PEP, CXC/CAPE, and SATs across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

  • Provide a written report with specific, actionable academic recommendations

How It Works

We walk with you from the first conversation to the final report. Here's what to expect at each stage.

1

Initial Consultation

We begin with a conversation. You share your concerns and goals; we gather background information and recommend the assessment pathway that makes the most sense for your situation. No commitment required at this stage.

2

Assessment Sessions

Depending on the type of assessment, you'll complete a series of tasks, questionnaires, and structured interviews across one or more sessions. We create a calm, supportive environment there are no "right" or "wrong" answers.

3

Scoring & Analysis

Our clinicians carefully score and interpret your results, always within the context of your cultural background, developmental history, and personal circumstances. This is where the picture comes together.

4

Report Review & Sharing

You will receive a detailed written report containing your results, any applicable diagnoses, and practical recommendations for school, work, treatment, or daily life. Each report is carefully reviewed by a member of our supervising team, including our Founder & Chief Executive Psychologist, Director of Clinical Supervision or Clinical Director, before it is finalized and shared with you. We can also assist with referrals and follow-up support.

5

Feedback Session

We meet with you (and your family, if appropriate) to walk through the findings in plain language. You'll leave with a clear understanding of the results and the opportunity to ask any questions you need answered.
